The CSCL Globe

The CSCL Globe, the container ship, went into service in 2014. She was the longest container ship [with 1311 feet (400 m) long] in the world at the time of her launching.

Hyundai Heavy Industries of South Korea built her. She was launched on 23 August 2014 and is operated by COSCO Shipping, a Chinese multi-national conglomerate.

She sails at a maximum speed of 22 knots (41 km/h) and cruising speed at 20.5 knots (38 km/h). Her main engine is MAN B&W 12S90ME-C with an output power of 69,720 KW at 84 rpm. Her capacity is 19,100 TEU (Twenty-foot equivalent unit) containers.

She was fuel-efficient and her noise level is low with reduced emissions of carbon dioxide.
