This happened when the calendar was changed on 5th October 1582 AD.
A new Gregorian calendar came into force on that day.
It was reset by Pope Gregory 13.

Firstly the Gregorian calendar is adopted in the Catholic countries of Europe. And it is now followed in most of the countries of world.
Until 1582 the old calendar followed by Catholic countries was the Julian calendar.
This was established by Julius Caesar by reforming the Roman calendar in 46 B.C.E.

Why did Pope Gregory 13 reset the Julian calendar?
The main reason for the reform of the Julian calendar was to fix the date of Easter. Because Easter is the most important festival for Christians.
Prior to the establishment of the Gregorian calendar, Easter was observed on the Sunday closest to the full moon after the spring equinox or vernal equinox, according to the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.
What is Equinox?
Equinox means the time of day and night are almost equal in the northern and southern hemispheres. These equinoxes occur twice in a year.
One – the spring equinox or vernal equinox or March equinox. It occurs approximately on the 21st of March.
Two – “Autumnal equinox or fall equinox or September equinox”. It occurs approximately on the 22nd of September.
The Julian calendar had a time error.
According to the Julian calendar, a solar year is 365.25 days.
But to be precise, the actual solar year is 365.2422 days. This time error causes an extra day to be added every 100 years. But it is not adjusted in the calendar.
Therefore, the exact day of Easter is not fixed.
So Pope Gregory XIII solved this problem. He proposed dropping ten days in 1582 to adjust this miscalculation in the Julian calendar.
Thus October 5 suddenly became October 15.
The exact measurement of the leap year was also determined by a change made by Pope Gregory. That is, it adjusted that no century year should be a leap year unless it is divisible by 400. Thus a leap year was formed with precise measurement.
