The law obligates citizens and organizations to take measures using fully shielded light fixtures to prevent the occurrence of light pollution of the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fine ranging from 500 to 150,000 Czech crowns is subject to be paid by the violators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though night lighting helps us to carry out numerous essential activities of commercial, industrial, logistics, and leisure, it proves to be adverse to the fauna and flora on the earth when it is lit up excessive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Types of Light Pollution<\/mark><\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The types of \u2018Light Pollution\u2019 defined by IDA (International Dark-Sky Association), a non-profit organization, are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">1. Glare:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Excessive brightness that causes visual discomfort.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">2. Sky Glow: <\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Brightening of the night sky over inhabited areas.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">3. Light Trespass:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Light falling where it is not intended or needed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">4. Clutter:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bright, confusing and excessive groupings of light sources.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"670\" height=\"363\" src=\"https:\/\/mamlabs.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/03_light-effects_web.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4497\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/03_light-effects_web.webp 670w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/03_light-effects_web-300x163.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">The major sources of light pollution are:<\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li><strong>Street lights,<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Illuminated sports venues,<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Advertising signs,<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Factories.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Sky Scrapers, and so on.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Africa is the dimmest continent at nights in the world. It emits 1000 times more light than the average of international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Effects of light pollution:<\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#851e1e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">1. Health effects:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Our circadian cycle (biological clock) is badly affected by the excessive light at nights (even with the light that directly reflects from smart phones into our eyes). <\/p><p>The common health disorders observed are sleep disorders, depression, increasing risks of obesity, diabetes, breast cancer, etc.<\/p><p>When going from over-lit areas to dimmed ones, our eyes find it difficult to adapt to the new lighting condition and it damages eyes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#731b1b\" class=\"has-inline-color\">2. Disruption of ecosystem and wildlife: <\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The excessive artificial night-light has deadly effects on plants, creatures, birds, insects, and mammals disrupting the rhythm of their daily Earth\u2019s cycle of light and darkness.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#862020\" class=\"has-inline-color\">3. Waste of energy:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Unnecessary or Excessive indoor and outdoor lighting wastes our energy sources. Quality lighting design such as dimmers, fully-shielded fixtures, LEDs (Light-Emitting Diodes) and CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lamps), and motion and time-sensor lighting systems, reduces energy use and dependency.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#7d1919\" class=\"has-inline-color\">4. Waste of Money:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It is estimated that about 50% to 70% of costs can be reduced if proper (domestic or industrial or public) lighting system is adopted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#7e1d1d\" class=\"has-inline-color\">5. Social Issues:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Light pollution makes it difficult to observe night-sky especially for astronomers.
