It now corresponds to Western Asia,&nbsp; mostly today\u2019s Iraq, Kuwait, and the eastern parts of Syria, South-eastern Turkey, and regions along the The Turkish-Syrian and Iran-Iraq borders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contemporary civilizations to Mesopotamia, dated between&nbsp;c.&nbsp;3500 and&nbsp;c.&nbsp;3000&nbsp;BC, are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Ancient Egypt:<\/mark><\/strong> It started&nbsp;with the reign of&nbsp;Egypt&#8217;s&nbsp;first king, Narmer, in approximately 3100 BC, and&nbsp;ended&nbsp;with the death of Cleopatra VII in 30 BC. It was situated in the place that is now the country&nbsp;Egypt and concentrated along the lower reaches of the Nile River.<\/li><li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Norte Chico:<\/mark><\/strong> It dates back between c. 3,700 BC and c. 1,800 BC. It is now the region of north-central coastal Peru. It is also called Caral or Caral-Supe&nbsp;civilization and includes as many as thirty major pre-Columbian population centres.<\/li><li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Minoan Civilization: <\/mark><\/strong>It flourished from c. 3000 BC to c. 1450 BC and finally ended around 1100 BC. It is also called as Bronze Age Aegean civilization. Its geographical range is Aegian sea especially Crete (the largest island of Greek).<\/li><li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Ancient China: <\/mark><\/strong>Most historians agree that&nbsp;ancient China civilization&nbsp;occurred sometime around 2000 BCE around the Yellow River. Its significant contributions to the world are papermaking, printing, gunpowder and the compass.<\/li><li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Mesoamerica:<\/mark><\/strong> It is the complex of indigenous cultures that developed in parts of Mexico and Central America in about&nbsp;1200 BC, known as the Olmec civilization.&nbsp;And. &nbsp;<\/li><li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">The Indus Valley: <\/mark><\/strong>It is also known as the Harappa and Mohenjo Daro civilization lasted&nbsp;from 3300 BC to 1300 BC. It was a Bronze Age civilisation and extended from modern-day northeast Afghanistan to Pakistan and northwest India.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In those days Mesopotamia civilization refers to the kingdoms ruled by Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, and Babylonians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sumerians are the people of Sumer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sumer is the earliest known and one of the first civilizations in the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Akkadians built the first ancient empire of Mesopotamia around 2900 BC to 2350 B.C. after the long-lived Sumerian civilization. Akkadian and Sumerian speakers were united under one rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assyrians are also Mesopotamia\u2019s ethnic group in the Middle East during, possibly, around the&nbsp;25th century BC.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Babylonians were ancient Akkadian-speaking people of central-southern Mesopotamia emerged in 1894 BC.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enheduanna was the daughter of the Akkadian Emperor Sargon the Great. Her mother was probably Queen Tashlultum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mamlabs.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/03_mother.web_.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3847\" width=\"335\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/03_mother.web_.webp 749w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/03_mother.web_-300x172.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 335px) 100vw, 335px\" \/><figcaption><strong>Queen Tashlultum<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mamlabs.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/02.2_web.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3848\" width=\"426\" height=\"189\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/02.2_web.webp 804w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/02.2_web-300x134.webp 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/02.2_web-768x342.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><figcaption><strong>Sargon The Great<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sargan is identified as the first ruler of the Akkadian Empire, perhaps, the first to rule over an empire, as per recorded history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He established the vast Akkadian Kingdom with his conquests of the Sumerian city-states in the 24<sup>th<\/sup> to 23<sup>rd<\/sup> centuries BC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city of Akkad becomes one of the largest in the world, and northern and southern Mesopotamia were united for the first time in history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\">Giparu at Ur was Enheduanna&#8217;s main residence.<\/mark><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>She was the first known woman to hold the title of EN appointed by her father king Sargon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Mesopotamia civilization, a great political importance was often given to royal daughters with the title of En.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her father Sargon, offered her another appointment, as the High-Priestess of the goddess Inanna, and the moon god Nanna, Suen at the temples in, Ur, (in modern-day Southern Iraq).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nanna-Suen was the Mesopotamian moon god.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moon god is called Nanna by Sumerians and Suen or Sin by Akkadians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enheduanna means \u201cOrnament of Heaven\u201d which reflects the celestial nature of her occupation as High Priestess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the ancient world, there was male domination in the areas of scribes or writers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, in the rich literary history of Mesopotamia her works form an important part. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"628\" height=\"388\" src=\"https:\/\/mamlabs.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/04.web_-4.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3852\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/04.web_-4.webp 628w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/04.web_-4-300x185.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She composed several hymns and myths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of her work is available in translation at the Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Literature (ETCSL) at the Oriental Institute of the University of Oxford in Britain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enheduanna composed 42 hymns addressing the temples across Sumer and Akkad empires. This collection is known as &#8216;The Sumerian Temple Hymns&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">                   The important one is about the goddess Inanna titled &#8216;The Exaltation of Inanna&#8217; or \u2018Nin-me-sar-ra &#8216;. (A &#8220;contemporary poetic adaptation&#8221; of it by the Minnesota author <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Cass Dalglish<\/mark><\/strong> was published in 2008). <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"788\" her works to the goddess Inanna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\">Goddess Inanna<\/mark><\/strong> is the daughter of <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\">moon god Nanna<\/mark><\/strong> in Mesopotamian myths. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"739\" height=\"449\" love, beauty, sex, war, justice and political power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sumerians worship her to acquire power and fortune. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ishtar was another name of Inanna given by Akkadians, Babylonians, and Assyrians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8216;The Exaltation of Inanna also describes Enheduanna\u2019s expulsion from Ur during the reign of her brother <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\">Rimush<\/mark><\/strong>, having suspected her involvement in some form of political turmoil.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"746\" height=\"479\" post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her hymns and myths were written in cuneiform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cuneiform is an ancient form of writing using clay tablets. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Archaeological and textual sources reveal that two seals have been excavated at the Royal Cemetery at Ur, bearing her name, belonging to her servants and dating to the Sargonic period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An alabaster disc was also excavated in the Giparu at Ur bearing her name and likeness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The originality and authorship of her works is clearly asserted by her temple hymns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In those hymns, Enheduanna states: &#8220;My king, something has been created that no one has created before. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also comments on the difficulties of the creative process \u2014 apparently, writer\u2019s block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her written works are deeply personal in subject, containing numerous biographical features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She describes that she spent long hours over her compositions by night so as to perform them in the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enheduanna\u2019s poetry has a reflective quality of the divine muse, highlighting the artistic skill required for the compositions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"766\" height=\"440\" Enheduanna\u2019s life have been discovered by archaeologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These include cylinder seals belonging to her servants, and an alabaster relief inscribed with her dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">The Disk of Enheduanna<\/mark><\/strong>&nbsp;was discovered by British archaeologist <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Sir Charles Leonard Woolley<\/mark><\/strong> and his team of excavators in 1927. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"727\" height=\"425\" src=\"https:\/\/mamlabs.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/09_sir-Charles.web_.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3866\" Day in 2014, at a pre-launch event for Niniti International Literature Festival, hosted by the British Council in Erbil, Iraq. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"748\" height=\"436\" src=\"https:\/\/mamlabs.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/10_niniti-intl.web_.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3869\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/10_niniti-intl.web_.webp 748w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/10_niniti-intl.web_-300x175.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Eleanor Robson<\/mark><\/strong> described Enheduanna as &#8220;a wish-fulfillment figure&#8230;a marvelously appealing image&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"742\" height=\"435\"
